When I was in High School, I started watching cake decorating shows that were the current craze in the late 2000's. The artistry the bakers were able to incorporate into their cakes blew me away. I began making cakes from home for friends and family as a hobby, but quickly realized how much I loved it and wanted to pursue it as a career.
Baking and creating brought me joy, but equally if not more important, it brought joy and fun to the people receiving the desserts. I'm a firm believer that life isn't all about me, so to find something that made the world a brighter place for others was a win win.
Growing up, I've always leaned into the creative parts of myself. When I saw how bakers could turn desserts into art, I was hooked.
Post High School, I completed a formal education in Baking and Pastry Arts where I gained an appreciation for not only making desserts beautiful, but also delicious in flavor and texture.
From there, I worked in two local bakeries, one where I decorated elaborate event cakes and cupcakes, and another that leaned into comfort bakes featuring ingredient forward designs.
And here we are now. When my husband and I started a family, I made the shift to building a business from home where I could share recipes, decorating tutorials, and resources for others looking to find the joy of baking in their own lives.
This has developed into what you see today through this food blog, social media baking fun, online classes, and creating dessert content for brands in the food sphere.
